Not to leave you all hanging...there's a lot to talk about here. The GR20 has been contrasted, compared, and described as the John Muir Trail of Europe. I would argue that the GR20 is more like Roper's Sierra High Route than anything. Easily the toughest backpacking I have done since my time in the army. The sites, smells, tastes, and people all make Corsica a place to explore, too, so make sure to plan plenty of extra time to roam around the island.
Although the altitudes reached are low, the elevation gains are high. Some days can include 2,500' of gain in 3 miles.
